Fast

• In only approx. 1.6 seconds, your camera is ready to shoot with one click. While other cameras are still extending their lenses, you are already taking shots thanks to Direct On and Quick Start-up. A quick click immediately displays the image preview with Direct On Play.

• How fast is really fast? The Exilim EX-Z50 has a shutter speed of 0.01 seconds after successful focusing. Which means there is little that is fast enough to escape you!

• To search for a particular picture can sometimes take a while, especially if you have saved hundreds of images. Quick playback saves you time when searching; it "browses" through ten pictures per second, which corresponds to a screen change of only 0.1 second.

• With quick moving subjects, the auto focus of a camera has to continuously readjust. This is time consuming and leads to a delay when you press the shutter release. Auto Pan Focus switches the auto focus off as soon as a focal point has been found. Now there are only 0.01 seconds between pressing the shutter release and the finished picture.

• Changing between normal focus and the macro range is really fast thanks to the auto macro function. The EX-Z50's macro range's from 6cm to 50cm. The camera measures the distance to the subject before each photo is taken, and automatically sets the correct focal range; so every picture is crystal clear, right down to the detail.

• The extra large, 2.0" digital TFT colour display completes the design of the Exilim EX-Z50. It displays your photos and videos with incredible sharpness and brilliance in bright sunlight as well as in absolute darkness. An acrylic plate protects the high quality display against scratches and other damage.

• The silver case of the Exilim zoom EX-Z50 is made with the finest quality materials. The EX Fine Blast finish gives the camera its stylish shine.

Innovative

• The new, ultra high resolution CCD Chip of the Exilim zoom EX-Z50 gives you 4 million pixels of brilliant colour. As a result, it is possible to make prints on large sized photo paper in excellent quality.

• In a digital camera, just as in a computer, there is a processor. It is connected to other electronic components, such as a buffer memory. Using stack MCM technology, CASIO has created the EXILIM Engine, which places these important components in an extremely flat design and "stack" them on top of each other in a single chip. In the EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z50, a chip operates over three layers. In this way space and power are saved for other features.

• The Pentax lens allows 3x optical zoom. For high resolution pictures that are simply closer to the object.

• Empty batteries are a thing of the past. The Exilim zoom EX-Z50 uses less power due to new technology and also has a new, extremely powerful super-life battery. With that much power, the camera is ready at the right moment and takes up to 360 pictures on a single charge.

Intelligent

• BESTSHOT gives you practical settings for different subjects and lighting conditions. The Exilim zoom EX-Z50 offers 21 best shot scenarios, your own pre-defined scenario can also be saved and recalled at any time.

• You can select between two different types of auto focus: "Spot" focuses classically on the centre of the picture. If there is a gap exactly at that spot, for example with two people standing next to each other, then "Multi" will help. This focus function searches over a range of seven points for the closest and focuses on it.

• The calendar function offers a new way to store your photos. For each day that you have taken a picture, a photo is displayed as an example. In this way you can find pictures more easily. At a glance, you can see what you experienced on holiday on a particular day.

• With Picture Reversal, you can turn your pictures upside down, with a press of the button, useful if you want to show it to others.

• Pictures taken in a portrait format can be manually rotated for playback in landscape format. Now you don't have to turn the camera or your head in order to look at the picture

• With Re-Size/Trimming you can change the size of the picture already in the camera and sections of a picture can be saved as its own shot. In this way, you could cut out the area containing just the face of a person and have it printed as a photo without using a computer or complicated software.
